SODO GOSPEL CRUSADE, ETHIOPIA // 29 OCT - 1 NOV 2026

SODO Gospel Crusade, Ethiopia, DAY 1:
The hand of the Lord is heavy upon Sodo! What mighty miracles we witnessed tonight, both of salvation and healing. We have planned to come to Sodo ever since we began crusading in Ethiopia in 2017, but other locations took priority—until now! The time has come for In His Name to lift high the name above every other name, and already, we are seeing that name prevail.
As I usually do on the first night of our crusades, I preached from Isaiah 61, proclaiming the Gospel with heartfelt simplicity. I explained that the Gospel is good news because it solves the problem of sin, removing the barrier that separates us from God. When Jesus washes our sins away with His precious blood, He also heals our brokenness and breaks every chain of bondage. We then called on Jesus with one accord, asking Him to do this work in our lives. It was spectacular!
Prayer for the sick was followed by a stream of testimonies. Sometimes, the first night can be a little slow, with people feeling nervous about coming forward to testify publicly. Not in Sodo!
Bereket (20 years old) had a protruding tumour in his abdomen that was so large he struggled to walk. During prayer, it disappeared! He can now walk normally—and even jump, which he joyfully demonstrated on stage. And there is more: Bereket received Jesus as Saviour. God saved and healed him in a single service. Praise the Lord!
Tamrat (29 years old) had been unable to move his right arm properly since a car accident five years ago. He underwent surgery and had metal implants inserted into that arm, which terribly restricted its range of movement. His condition left him unable to work, forcing him to resort to begging to survive. Today, he jubilantly testified that he can move his arm again! We went down on his knees on stage, worshipping God.
Yohannis is a 42-year-old medical doctor. For a month, he had been experiencing pain in his chest around the heart area, which affected his ability to lift his arms properly. During prayer, he placed his hand on his chest and felt something moving. He can now raise both arms freely again, without pain.
Abraham is a 23-year-old bakery worker who had suffered from stomach pain for six years, describing it as a persistent burning sensation. Already a child of God, he attended the crusade specifically to receive a miracle. During the prayer, these symptoms suddenly disappeared. Miracle received!
Thank you so much for your continued prayers. This is just the beginning of what the Lord is going to do here. May His wonders increase and abound!
We also have a number of special guests with us, including dear friends from South Africa and Sweden, as well as a large group from Faith Church in Orlando, Florida. They have already been an incredible blessing to Sodo, equipping Christian businesspeople today and assisting us with crusade tasks. Over the next few days, they will also be ministering in the local prison and hospital. Please keep them in your prayers, too. We are thoroughly enjoying having them with us!
What a wonderful start to our Sodo Gospel Crusade. All glory to Jesus!
