NEKEMTE Gospel Crusade, Ethiopia, DAY 1:
We are off to a spectacular start here in Nekemte! This is a strategic hub in the East Welega Zone of the Oromia Region. It is a pivotal centre for the spread of the Gospel in the greater area and we are thrilled to be working here. We have wanted to do so for some time but civil unrest has made it difficult. Even now, we need to abide by a strict 6pm curfew. The pastors are full of faith and the people are hungry for God. Our team has been pouring into the leaders and believers of Nekemte over the past weeks—as well as evangelising the lost—and we are excited to see what the Lord will now do over the next few climactic days.
Our services are being held in the local stadium. Six will be held in total, with two taking place on Saturday and Sunday, days when people will travel into town from the outlying villages. This afternoon, thousands already gathered, eager to encounter the living God. I preached from Isaiah 61, explaining why the Gospel is good news and unpacking many of its precious facets. The name of Jesus was called upon with great fervour. Follow-up material was distributed, as well as prayer cards—the means we use here to collect the details of new converts. We prayed for the sick and those in need of deliverance and the Lord moved mightily. We will begin taking testimonies tomorrow and look forward to sharing with you all the wonderful stories of what the Lord is doing.
Thank you for your continued prayers. They are undergirding us and ensuring that the Gospel goes forth here without any hindrance. Nekemte belongs to Jesus!

NEKEMTE Gospel Crusade, Ethiopia, DAY 2:
Our crowd tripled in size today. We still have our weekend services ahead of us and already, the stadium is half full—and what a beautiful sight it is! The people are wonderfully receptive to the Gospel. I ministered one of my favourite messages this afternoon, preaching from Luke 15 and relaying the stories of the lost sheep, coin and son. The crowd was invited to call on Jesus and invite Him to become their Shepherd, which they did with sincere enthusiasm.
Prayer for the sick was followed with many terrific testimonies. Farahal is 7 years old. Since birth, he had suffered from a relentlessly swollen belly. He would vomit often and be in constant pain. During prayer, his mother laid her hand on his stomach and a miracle took place—the swelling subsided and the discomfort vanished! Farahal is thrilled with his newly flat, pain-free tummy. “I will eat whatever I like now,” he voiced. How marvellous!
Zelelem is a 26-year-old mother of one. Over a year ago, her neck became increasingly stiff, until she could no longer bend or turn it. It made daily life challenging and this precious woman was frustrated. Already a believer, she attended our crusade specifically to receive prayer—and the Lord liberated her from her ailment! “I thank God so much,” she expressed.
Sara is a 36-year-old entrepreneur and mother of four. Severe pain in her left knee made it impossible for her to bend it. If she sat, it was with great difficulty and then she needed assistance to get back up again. This was far from ideal for a busy mom and businesswoman. She was desperate for a breakthrough and the Lord did not disappoint. Kicking both legs with ease on stage, she shared how Jesus had touched her. “I am healed and happy!” she declared. “I bless God!”
Tomorrow, we will hold both morning and afternoon services. We look forward to sharing with you all that our Lord will surely do and sincerely appreciate your prayers!

NEKEMTE Gospel Crusade, Ethiopia, DAY 3:
The Lord is showing up and showing off in Nekemte! Our crowd continues to grow as word spreads of what He is doing. Today, we held both morning and afternoon services. Ev. Samuel Murrombe preached the Gospel in the first service, and I did so in the second. Avalanches of salvation followed the proclamation of the Word—it was glorious! I also began teaching on the Holy Spirit, laying a foundation that we will build upon tomorrow before praying for the baptism in the Holy Spirit.
Prayer for the sick yielded many mighty testimonies. Keneni, a 48-year-old farmer, had been suffering from kidney stones for nine years. He was in agony, urinating blood and unable to bend because of the pain. “Even breathing hurt,” he shared. During prayer, he began to shake as the Lord overwhelmed his body and set him free from his torturous condition. Bending and stretching on stage, Keneni rejoiced in his miracle.
Workinesh, a 50-year-old merchant and widow, had been badly gored by an ox five months ago and underwent abdominal surgery. Since then, her stomach had been painfully swollen. “It affected me terribly,” she exclaimed. Today, the Lord touched her belly— the swelling and pain vanished instantly! Completely healed, Workinesh jumped up and down on stage, showing off her newfound freedom.
Atsade, a 35-year-old mother of three, had endured unrelenting pain in her left breast for seventeen years. It was so sensitive that even the brush of clothing caused discomfort. Jesus intervened, and now Atsade is pain-free. “I am healed completely,” she exclaimed. “Thank you, Lord!”
Tomorrow morning, all evangelical churches will close their doors as we gather together in the stadium for a mass service. Then, in the afternoon, we will hold our final meeting—all for His glory!

NEKEMTE Gospel Crusade, Ethiopia, FINAL DAY:
Today, we ministered to a packed stadium in both our morning and afternoon services. What hunger and eagerness for the things of God we have witnessed here in Nekemte! The pastors are wonderful, humble servants of the Lord. They are overjoyed at the success of this campaign and are already preparing to follow up the thousands of new converts. We believe their churches will explode with growth and that the Lord will make Nekemte a true lighthouse for the Gospel!
This morning, I preached from John 3, sharing the story of Nicodemus and explaining what it means to be born again. The crowd eagerly asked God to work this miracle in their lives. We also handed out certificates to the pastors and volunteers, along with copies of the Amharic edition of my book, “Spirit of Fire” that teaches on the Holy Spirit and evangelism.
In the afternoon, Ev. Samuel Murrombe preached the Gospel, and I followed with a teaching on how to partner with the Holy Spirit and be used by Him as a witness—with signs and wonders following. We then prayed for everyone to be filled with the Spirit, as well as for the prayer requests submitted throughout the crusade and for the town of Nekemte and its churches. It was a spectacular time in His presence! The people were wonderfully impacted—filled, healed, delivered, and fired up for Gospel action. May this crusade be a springboard for even greater things among the believers of Nekemte.
Heartfelt thanks to every partner who made this crusade possible through their prayers and giving. Nekemte has truly been shaken by the power of God and we give Him all the glory! Our crusade staff will now return to their respective homes in Addis, Johannesburg and Cape Town before coming together again next month in Dembi Dolo, another Ethiopian town. Thank you for your continued prayers and support. Together, let us keep pressing forward into harvest field after harvest field!
