NEJO GOSPEL CRUSADE, ETHIOPIA // 13-16 MARCH 2025

NEJO Gospel Crusade, Ethiopia, DAY 1:

We are in the far west of the Oromia Region. Our journey here consisted of one international flight, two domestic flights, and over five hours of mountain-climbing, bundu-bashing road travel. When we arrived however, any fatigue immediately disintegrated due to the warmness of the welcome we received. The pastors paraded us through the streets and the people greeted us with the warmest of smiles and most enthusiastic of waves.

Today, our first service was held on an expansive soccer field, nestled in a valley among the homes and general hustle of Nejo. Already, thousands gathered, eager and receptive. I preached from Isaiah 61, outlining some of the key things that our Jesus will do for anyone who calls upon His name. Such includes washing away the sin that separates them from God, healing their broken heart, setting them free from any chains of the devil, and turning their ashes into beauty. Amen and amen! The name of Jesus was called upon with gusto, prayer cards completed and follow-up material distributed.

Prayer for the sick was quickly followed by testimony after testimony, including these that follow.

An elderly farmer named Asata (65) had been suffering from severe pain in his right side for over a year. He had visited numerous doctors, but none could determine the cause. Just that morning, he had been at the hospital, seeking help. However, after prayer, he checked himself and discovered that the pain was completely gone!

Gete is a 35-year-old mother of five, who had been unable to move her left leg for many years. The ailment made working impossible and parenting challenging. When she heard about the crusade, she struggled to get there on her own but was determined to attend. As we prayed, she felt the power of God enter her body. Checking herself, she realised the pain had vanished and all mobility had returned.

Turu is a 65-year-old widow. She had been bedridden for years, unable to move from the waist down. She attended the crusade with great difficulty but with zealous faith—and received her healing.

A grandfather named Adam (60) had been struggling with a terrible sickness for two years, characterised by terrible kidney pain and a relentless fever. Initially, he did not want to attend the service, preferring to rest at home, but his family insisted he go. During prayer, he felt the sickness leave his body.

Abebe (29) is a singer. A severe toothache had plagued him for over a year. However, when we began praying, he felt the ailment disappear. Now, he is completely pain-free and rejoicing in his healing.

Tomorrow, we will hold both morning and afternoon services. Thank you for your continued prayers. They are moving spiritual mountains among the physical mountains of Nejo!

NEJO Gospel Crusade, Ethiopia, DAY 2:

Today was extraordinary. We held two services, both wonderfully attended and brimming over with the miraculous. Ev. Samuel Murrombe ministered this morning, while I preached in the afternoon. Thousands responded wholeheartedly to the Gospel, declaring that Jesus is the Son of God and calling on Him to be their Lord and Saviour. As our crowd grows, the stage is beginning to feel like a raft floating on a sea of humanity, precious people pressing in on all sides.

We heard numerous stunning testimonies again today.

Teter is a 66-year-old farmer who had been struggling for over a year with no feeling in his one leg, which forced him to rely on a crutch. During prayer, sensation flooded back into that limb. Overcome with joy, he jumped and ran around on stage, praising God.

Muritu (35) is a mother of four and a day labourer. For the past three years, she had been experiencing such severe pain in her womb that she could barely walk, let alone bend down. “I could neither work nor perform household chores,” she shared. During the service, the pain vanished. Elated, she shouted praises to God.

Dirib is a 50-year-old farmer. For the past thirty years, he had been battling tuberculosis in his lungs and serious bladder problems. He attended our service yesterday and since then, all symptoms of his illnesses have vanished. Last night, he had a vivid dream in which he heard a voice declaring his healing and felt a fire in his body. He attended our afternoon service to share his story. “I am completely free now,” he expressed. “I am very happy!”

Dinknesh is 70 years old. A devoted believer, she heard about the crusade at church. The past five years were tortuous. A migraine headache tormented her without ceasing and her right eye became blind. During prayer, not only did the headache leave but her eyesight returned. Hallelujah!

Zinaye is a 40-year-old mother of seven and a farmer. For the past two years, her left leg had been excruciatingly painful. “I would cry all the time and had no peace,” she voiced. When we prayed for healing, she felt overwhelmed by the power of God and started speaking with other tongues, as she was filled with the Spirit. While she was already a believer, she had never experienced this before. As the Spirit filled her, the pain left her. How marvelous!

Tomorrow, we will hold two services again. Everyone is expectant. Jesus is working wonders and we are thrilled to be witnesses of His power and glory. Heartfelt thanks for your support.

NEJO Gospel Crusade, Ethiopia, DAY 3:

Our Jesus showed up and showed off today. Yet again, two services were held. Ev. Samuel preached in the morning, while I led the afternoon meeting. In the afternoon, I shared two messages, the first on salvation and the second on the Holy Spirit. Tomorrow, I will continue teaching further on the Holy Spirit before we pray for each believer in attendance to be filled with power from on high. Thousands are attending every service and receiving Jesus as Lord and Saviour. People are standing everywhere—in front of the stage, next to the stage, behind the stage. The atmosphere is vibrant. Extraordinary miracles continue manifesting and our team and the local pastors are rejoicing over every testimony.

Kulani is a 35-year-old mother of three. More than two years ago, the soles of her feet began hurting so severely that walking became enormously difficult. “I could not keep my balance and I could no longer work,” she explained. Since prayer, the pain has stopped and Kulani is overjoyed.

Alemineth (45) is a small business owner, selling tea and food. She had been unable to move or bend her left arm for over a year due to excruciating pain. Visits to doctors did not yield any solution. She can now move her arm freely without any problems. “I am completely healed, I thank God!” she excitedly voiced.

Itenesh is a 50-year-old widow. She was diagnosed with abdominal cancer five years ago and had grown extremely ill. She needed to be carried to the crusade field, so great was the pain. Today, after prayer, the pain has left her and she feels strong and healthy once more.

Gemelhis (25) came forward to testify, together with his wife. Two weeks ago, he had been struck down by a strange disease—its main symptoms being brutal head and chest pains—that resulted in him being admitted to hospital. He was not getting any better and becoming desperate, his wife wanted to bring him to the crusade. The doctors made her sign papers saying that if he died, they could not be held responsible. Gemelhis was carried to the field, unresponsive. During prayer, the Lord touched him mightily and since then, he has made a full and speedy recovery! They came to testify today of the goodness of God.

Zewude is a 62-year-old woman who has been suffering the effects of witchcraft for the past six years. Her mind was tormented and the pain in her abdomen was unbearable. Today, Jesus set her free. Her thoughts are clear and her body is pain-free. Hallelujah!

Tomorrow morning, we will hold a mass service with all the involved churches and in the afternoon, our final meeting. Nejo is being shaken by the Gospel. Thank you for standing with us!

NEJO Gospel Crusade, Ethiopia, FINAL DAY:

What a day! We are exhausted—but rejoicing! This morning, all evangelical churches in Nejo closed their doors, and we gathered on the crusade field for a combined service. I preached the Gospel, we prayed for the sick, and a vibrant mass choir, made up of hundreds of singers from different congregations, blessed us with spirited worship, looking beautiful in their long, flowing robes. We also awarded certificates and books to the pastors and volunteers.

In the afternoon, tens of thousands surrounded our stage, turning it into an aluminium island. Preaching felt like being a spinning top—constantly turning to ensure everyone felt included. It was wonderful! First, Evangelist Samuel ministered the Gospel, and then I taught on being a witness with signs and wonders following. We prayed for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and thousands were filled. We also lifted up all the prayer requests submitted throughout the crusade and interceded for the town of Nejo.

The testimonies today were nothing short of astounding. Two, in particular, stood out—both shared by individuals who had suffered for decades.

Saketa is a 50-year-old farm labourer. Twenty-five years ago, a tumour became noticeable on his stomach. It continued to grow larger and larger until it was massive. Already a believer, he attended the crusade especially to receive prayer for healing. During one of our services, the Lord performed his own operation—and the tumour is no more! Thrilled, Saketa lifted his shirt on stage to show a perfectly flat stomach, free from any trace of the growth. “I am very, very happy!” he exclaimed.

Beshatu is also in her fifties. Like the woman in Scripture who had suffered from an issue of blood for twelve years, so was she—except that she had suffered from the ailment for twenty-two years. I battle to imagine what this dear woman endured for such a long time. In addition, she had suffered a stroke which had incapacitated her right side. Her vision had also deteriorated. Attending our Friday service, Beshatu received prayer and our Jesus did a thorough work in her body. Since then, the bleeding has stopped completely, her right side is fully functional, and her eyesight has been restored. Elated, she beamed as she shared her story. “Thanks to the Lord Jesus Christ!” she professed. Amen and amen.

Dear friend, thank you very much for making this crusade possible. Nejo has truly been shaken. As I write this report, the main street outside my hotel room is abuzz with young people dancing and singing praises to Jesus, as they make their way home from the crusade field. Nejo has been mightily impacted. Let us please keep the local pastors in our prayers as they begin following up the new converts. All for His glory. Amen!
